Ohten's 6th Gym

Helio's Sunny Day Gym

Leader: Daisy. Female, curly blonde hair, flowery sundress with a bathing suit underneath. Who knows, you might see here at one every once in a while.
Catchphrase: "Don't you just love sunshine?"

Pokemon:
Quilava, Level 35;
Ability: Blaze
Moves: Flame Wheel, Lava Plume, Defense Curl, Overheat

Sunflora, Level 36;
Ability: Chlorophyll
Moves: Petal Dance, Leech Seed, Grass Whistle, Growth

Chertree, Level 36;
Ability: Berry Grow; (new) Every once in awhile, Chetree will grow a berry that counts as its held item.
Moves: Leech Seed, Magical Leaf, Growth, Secret Power

Ninetales, Level 37;
Ability: Flash Fire
Moves: Quick Attack, Flamethrower, Will-o-wisp, Captivate

Tropius, Level 38;
Ability: Solar Power
Moves: Magical Leaf, Stomp, Razor Leaf, Growth

City Profile: Helio City

Location of the Sunny Day Gym, named for Helios, Greek God of the Sun.
Helio City is also on a beach, so eventually, the cruise ship S.S. Neptune will port here and take you to the other regions (Kanto's Vermillion City or Hoenn's Slateport City) or, if you prefer, to the Olimpos (kinda like Olympus in name, but Battle Frontier in what you do).

Helio's beach is a great tourist attraction, where bathing suit contests are held, along with beach volleyball tournies. Of course, the beach is also open to battles, so trainers are challenging each other left and right, which makes it hard to pay attention to the bathing suit contests.

City Profile: Aprodye City

Location of the Hyper Level Pokémon Contest.
The city uses a short form of the name Aphrodite, who was the Greek Goddess of Beauty.
Additionally, this is where you will meet Expert Pokémon Coordinator, Adonis, named for the mythological character known for his handsome features and physique. He will personally judge whether your Pokémon are truly ready for the Hyper Level, and even the Master Level, pokemon contests.
It is also where many human and pokemon model companies have their headquarters, and hold photoshoots daily. If a trainer is lucky, they, their pokemon, or both they and their pokemon, may have their photos taken and put in Poke-Magazines.

City Profile: Lucina City

Each year, Pokémon breeders come to Lucina City to share Pokémon raising and breeding secrets, as well as show off, or even trade, their Pokémon.
The city's namesake, Lucina, was one of the many Roman goddesses of childbirth, so Lucina City is therefore the site of the breeding center.

Ohten's 5th Gym

Vulcano's Defense Gym
Leader: Barry Cade. Bald and bulky, clad in jeans and a tank top.
Catchphrase: "You won't even leave a scratch!"

Pokemon:
Skarmory, Level 32;
Ability: Keen Eye
Moves: Agility, Swift, Air Cutter, Fury Attack

Shuckle, Level 31,
Ability: Sturdy
Moves: Withdraw, Wrap, Stealth Rock, Double Team

Brikwal, Steel/Normal, Level 33;
Ability: Heatproof
Moves: Iron Defense, Ancient power, Ice Beam, Future Sight

Metang, Level 33;
Ability: Clear Body
Moves: Metal Claw, Bullet Punch, Confusion, Scary Face

Solrock, Level 35;
Ability: Levitate
Moves: Sunny Day, Solarbeam, Cosmic Power, Confusion

Rewards: Guardian Badge and an X-Defend

City Profile: Vulcano City

Location of the Defense Gym, and named for the Roman God of the Forge and Fire, Vuclan the Blacksmith God. Here you can find poke-blacksmiths that will make items you can place in your secret bases.
Just like Lavaridge and Fallarbor town, there is a nearby volcano for you to get ash and soot from to make the glass items for free.
Vulcano's main income, however, is from metal welding and industrial manufacturing. These foundries and factories are located near the base of the volcano, Mt. Vulcan. The volcano is also used to power the city through volcanic steam that spouts from small funnel-like openings also located near the volcano's base.

The Last New Pokemon: The True Legendaries

As with Mewtwo and Mew, Groudon and Kyogre, and Palkia and Dialga, these fan-created Legendaries are involved with each other as feuding enemies who can only be united by a trainer who is able to capture both of them (with or without cheats).
And as with Rayquaza and Giratina, there are also Legendaries that end up involved with this rivalry and (hopefully the way Rayquaza dealt with it) help stop it.

Pashun, the Love Pokemon
Psychic/Normal
Ability: Beauty (new ability, unique to Pashun); if opponent is Male, both Atk and Spec Atk are lowered by 1 stage

Obviously, her learnset has Charm, Captivate, and Attract, but also has many healing moves like Wish, Recover, and Healing Wish. Offensive moves include the Psychic and Normal type staples of Psychic, Tackle, and Confusion.

Versadial, the Adjustable Pokemon
Normal
Ability: Adaptability

Versadial's key moves in its learnset are Conversions 1 and 2, along with Camouflage, which all allow for manual type change. Most of its naturally learned moves are of the normal type, such as Quick Attack, Take Down, and Headbutt, so that the Conversions seem useless. But seeing as how its teachable learnset is open to almost any move out there, from Thunder to Fireblast to Surf, they can be used to fit any party's elemental strategy. And with Adaptablity, STAB will be a given after using one of the Conversions.

Tearoar, the Fear Pokemon
Dark/Ghost
Ability: Frighten (new and unique to Tearoar); lowers opponent's Spec Atk by 1 stage

Uses very moves with the theme of fear and anger, such as Scary Face, Glare, and Nightmare. Other Dark type and Ghost type moves are also found, such as Faint Attack, Shadow Ball, and and Dark Pulse. As with Versadial, it can also learn quite a number of moves through TMs, HMs, and tutors.

Coragis, the Bravery Pokemon
Fighting/Psychic
Ability: Valiance (new and unique to Coragis); eliminates immunities for both sides, and against an enemy with higher Atk and Def, raises Coragis' Atk and Def by 1 stage each.

Stat raising moves like Defense Curl and Bulk Up are found early on in its learnset, and High Priority moves like Protect and moves that allow the user to go first, like Bullet Punch and Extremespeed, are also naturally learned. Again, as with Versadial, it can learn many moves through tutoring, TMs, and HMs, although its own ability allows it to hit any opponent with any type of move.

The stories of these four are intertwined, as Tearoar and Coragis were the ever-battling rivals and Pashun and Versadial were the ones that tried to stop the fighting. However, the peace never lasted for long, for Tearoar usually does something that forces Coragis to step in and fight.

These two Pokémon are the physical embodiments of Good and Evil, Ying and Yang. Tearoar tries to bully and scare other Pokémon, even harm them, while Coragis stands up for the weak, and battles Tearoar to stop its negative ways. These two are like a Superhero and its Arch-nemisis, with their battles being legendary, said to have formed many of the landmarks of Ohten.

Centuries ago in the city of Menoetius, the war between the two came to a halt when the two had there biggest battle of all, that involved both Pashun and Versadial. The battle's result was a giant explosion that damaged the Pokemon of Good and Evil and forced them to go into hiding. Completely neutral about the outcome, Versadial travels Ohten aimlessly, while Pashun waits for when Coragis is better, so that she may help him if Tearoar ever reappears.

New Pokemon: Special Trio

Every generation of Pokemon has had a set of 3 pokemon that were only available once (don't be fooled, the Space Rocks are in multiples, but still very rare).
Gen 1 had the Legendary Birds,
Gen 2 had the Legendary Beasts,
Gen 3 had the Regis, and
Gen 4 had the Traits (or whatever they're supposed to be)

Gen 5 shall have: The Virtues!
The Virtues are said to be dwelling in a temple in the Ruins of Menoetius, where it was said that the Message of The Virtues was preached. The Virtue Pokemon are considered living examples of how people should be and act from day to day if they want to have better lives.

Pyetaz, the Devotion Pokemon, named for Roman goddess of Piety, Pietas
Psychic/Steel
Ability: Loyalty (new ability, unique to Pyetaz); when in double battles, Atk goes up 1 stage when ally is hurt.

Pyetaz learns many moves that involve the theme of loyalty, helping and giving. Return is the very first move it will learn, followed by Baton Pass and Helping Hand. Later moves include Present and Healing Wish, along with its own unique move, Charity. Charity allows Pyetaz to heal itself (and a partner in double battles) completely so long as it gives up 2 stages worth of Atk and Spec Atk stats.
There are many TM and HM moves it can learn, but not all of them have been explored. Secret Power and Cut are certainly on the list, and Surf, Whirlpool, and Waterfall are certainly not.

Ayedoz, the Humility Pokemon, named for Greek goddess of modesty, Aidos
Psychic/Steel
Ability: Humble (new ability, unique to Ayedoz); when in double battles, always goes after ally, even when Spd stat is higher

Many of Ayedoz's moves are of Priority 0 or less, like Focus Punch, or must always go last, such as Counter and Mirror Coat. Ayedoz's unique move is Respect, in which it raises the opponent's Speed stat, but confuses them at the same time.
However, its speed stat is not low by any means, so taught moves like Thunder will go first (unless the enemy's speed is higher, of course), but Ayedoz's nature is like Wobbuffets, were it prefers to go after the enemy the majority of the time.

Viritaz, the Honesty Pokemon, named for Roman goddess of Truth, Veritas
Psychic/Steel
Ability: Forewarn

Moves such as Foresight, Safeguard, and Refresh are used, so that there are no hindrances, such as evasion stat boosts or status changes. Viritaz prefers even playing fields in those cases, so that only the main stats of Atk, Def, Spec Atk, Spec Def, Spd and move Accuracy can affect the battle; moves like Double Team or Will-o-wisp are seen as "dirty tactics" by Viritaz, and it does not want to lose because a burn or poison made it faint. Luster Purge is also found in its moveset, as is its own unique move, Candor. This move allows the following move Viritaz uses to work without fail, at the sacrifice of an extra PP of that technique. Therefore, if Candor precedes Zap Cannon, it will hit, so long as 2PP are used.

New Pokemon

Minitaur, the Little Calf Pokemon
Normal
Ability: Intimidate or Anger Point
can only be obtained after breeding Tauros and Miltank

Manotar, the Minotaur Pokemon
Normal
Ability: Anger Point or Intimidate
evolves from Minitaur at level 25

As mentioned by the evolution note in italics, Minitaur was first introduced when a Tauros was bred with a Miltank at the Ohten Daycare facility. With the pink fur of its mother and the horns of its father, Minitaur is good with offense, but not so much with defense. Another notable characteristic is that it can not reproduce whatsoever. Neither can its evolution, Manotar, though type wise, they should be compatible with quite a few pokemon. But even so, Minitaur and Manotar are good for farm labor and landscaping.
It inherits moves mostly from the Tauros side, such as Horn Attack and Rage, but once it becomes Manotar, it can incorporate Fighting moves like Vital Throw, and punch moves like Mega Punch.

New Pokemon

Entrap, the Treant Pokemon
Rock/Grass
Ability: Leaf Shield or Rock Head
evolves from Sudowoodo when it levles up in the forest near Felicitas City

A treant is a living, walking tree, as seen in the Lord of the Rings movies, and are also referred to as "ents". Entrap still has the y-shaped antenna and 3-sphered hands that Sudowoodo has, but it is now part grass type because of the large patches of moss all over it. Along with the moss, little saplings poke out here-and-there on Entrap's body, so it is even more tree-like than its previous stage. Entrap has formed a symbiotic relationship with the saplings, but not the same kind that Paras has (the plant controls the animal). The trade off is that Entrap will move to where sunlight is so that the plants can photosynthesize, and the plants allow Entrap to use far more grass type techniques than before, such as Razor Leaf and Ingrain.

Magnetude, the Magnetic Sand Pokemon
Electric/Ground
Ability: Magnet Pull or Sand Veil
evolves into Silipone at level 22.

Silipone, the Magnetic Sand Pokemon
Electric/Rock
Ability: Magnet Pull or Sand Veil

Found all over the desert plains within Sethio Town sits, Magnetude and Silipone inadvertantly cause compasses and electrical equipment to malfunction. Electric type pokemon also start to act a little odd when they are near one of these two magnetic sand pokemon.
Much in the way Grimer and Muk are living blobs of sludge, Magnetude and Silipone are living sand dunes, and are capable of flattening out and piling up their form, so long as they maintain 1 cubic foot and 27 cubic feet of volume, respectively. Therefore, Silipone has 3 times the number of sand grains as Magnetude (1 cubic foot is 1 x 1 x 1, while 27 cubic feet is 3 x 3 x 3).
To know you have met a Magnetude or Silipone, they are a reddish-orange color, while the sand of the Sethio Desert is orange-yellow.

New Pokemon

Narlwail, the Horned Whale Pokemon
Water
Ability: Swift Swim or Oblivious

Suspicions of such a pokemon had been around for over a century when a small cruise liner sank in the middle of open sea. Upon inspection of the hull, a cleanly made hole 12 inches in diameter was found.
The first actual time a Narlwail was seen was during an exploration of the area in which the cruise liner was sunk. A one-man submarine had come across a nest of Poke-eggs that did not match any known species' eggs. A few seconds later, the sub was attacked by the very pokemon it was looking for. Luckily, the explorer was able to escape, though the sub was scratched up by Narlwail's horn.
The speculation as to why this pokemon attacked the cruise ship in the first place was that it was a male Narlwail who mistook the ship for a Wailord that was challenging it for territory. Narlwails, upon subsequent study, were found to be a bit dimwitted, for the hull of the liner was read, and wailords are blue and white.

Apecient, the Ape Man Pokemon
Fighting
Ability: Anger Point of Vital Spirit

Believed by "Super Evolutionists" to be the "missing link" between humans and primate pokemon like Primeape and Infernape, Apecient remains were first found deep inside Ohoya Tunnel. The remains were revived at the Thrinacie Island Research Lab, and the resulting Apecient was studied. However, Profs are still at odds on whether to allow Apecient to enter the wild and/or breed with other pokemon of the current day, since no one has any real proof to say that it is related to humans. And having more Human-pokemon mixes would be weird.

Primassive, the Giant Monkey Idol Pokemon
Rock/Fighting
Ability: Slack Off or Rock Head

Just sitting outside of Goliath Cave's entrance is a giant stone monkey. There were stories about it being alive, that it once yawned, and that it snores late at night. The rumor of it being a pokemon were proven when it was witnessed eating a couple dozen apples at once, whole, by a group of seven trainers who were traveling together in that area. Pictures and video were of course taken, and shown to many more. Now dozens of trainers and tourists gather to watch it in person, and maybe even catch it. The latter is much harder than expected, since it doesn't put up much of a fight and faints after a few turns, making it ineligible for capture.

New Pokemon!

The Magical Rabbit Pokemon

Trickibun, the Joke Bunny Pokemon
Normal
Ability: Super Luck or Iron Fist

Prankibit, the Prankster Rabbit Pokemon
Normal/Dark
Ability: Super Luck or Iron Fist
Evolves from Trickibun at Level 20 if it is night

Magibun, the Wizard Bunny Pokemon
Normal/Psychic
Ability: Super Luck or Iron Fist
Evolves from Trickibun at Level 20 if it is day

Comigear, the Comic Bunny Pokemon
Normal/Ghost
Ability: Super Luck or Iron Fist
Evolves from Trickibun at Level 20 if it is early morning

Unlike Buneary and its evolutions, Trickibun and its evolutions are much more comical and surreal in their appearances.
Trickibun has Mickey Mouse-esque gloves on the ends of its ears, and always seems to have a sly little smirk on its face. Prankibit inherits these qualities the strongest, with boxing gloves on its ears, and a down-right mischievous grin on its face. Magibun adds a magician's top hat to the mix, which it can use to hide and defend itself with, while Comigear resembles more of a Jack-in-the-Box.
All four can learn moves found in the Hitmonchan learnset (Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Comet Punch, etc.), those found in the Buneary learnset (Bounce, Jump Kick, Healing Wish, etc.) In addition, each of the evolutions can use moves compatible with their type.
For example: Magibun can learn Psywave, Calm Mind, and Magic Coat; Prankibit can learn Faint Attack, Dark Pulse, and Nasty Plot; Comigear can learn Astonish, Shadow Sneak, and Spite.

Ohten's 4th Gym

Sethio's Sandstorm Gym
Leader: Dusty; male, sandy blonde hair, khaki shorts and white tank top.
Catchphrase: "I see you've got your goggles. But can you see me?"

Pokemon:
Trapinch, Level 26;
Ability: Hyper Cutter
Moves: Bite, Sand Attack, Sand Tomb, Faint Attack

Terreon, Level 27;
Ability: Sand Veil
Moves: Dig, Sand Attack, Mud Slap, Earthquake

Lileep, Level 28;
Ability: Suction Cups
Moves: Confuse Ray, Acid, Constrict, Ingrain

Graveler, Level 30;
Ability: Rock Head
Moves: Rollout, Rock Polish, Magnitude, Double Edge

Rewards: Desert Badge, and TM37: Sandstorm

City Profile: Sethio Town

Location of the 4th Gym, the Sandstorm Gym and named for Seth, Egyptian god of Deserts.
A city of plains and dirt, they have monthly sandsculpting contests (they use water Pokémon to wet the sand. And I don't know how this would be as a mini-game, unless the DS' stylus and second screen are used to draw the sculpture). Winner gets Soft Sand, runner up gets 1000 Poke-Dollars.
Plus, Super Level Pokémon Contests are held here, since there isn't much else to do.

New Pokemon

The Space Rock Pokemon

Geddun, the Meteor Pokemon
Fire/Rock
Ability: Levitate

Geddun was first discovered during a meteor shower that happened in 19XX. As people watched the "shooting stars", a small shack was smashed to bits. In the rubble of the shack, groaning was heard, and out wobbled a rock with eyes. The rock creature panicked, and used a move recognized as Giga Impact to barrel through the crowd that had surrounded it. Professors are still not sure if there are any other Geddun that crash landed on Earth or not, but there certainly are more than one Geddun living on Earth; chances are, the original Geddun bred with a compatible Pokemon, perhaps a Ditto.

Armarble, the Asteroid Pokemon
Dark/Rock
Ability: Levitate

Unlike Geddun, Armarble's discovery happened in space. A space probe was sent out towards the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter. The video and pictures that the probe sent back had a certain oddity in common: an asteroid with eyes that followed the probe! Professors and scientists first thought that it was a Geddun still in space. But on further analysis, it was distinctly different from Geddun.
Using remote controlled space craft, scientists were able to capture an Armarble for study. For the moment, it is considered a separate species to Geddun, that is not related via evolution. Through breeding and training experiments, it was found that it is capable of using the some of the same techniques as Geddun, again showing that they are similar but not related, as Solrock and Lunatone are similar but not related.

Halestone, the Comet Pokemon
Ice/Rock: Levitate

Halestone's discovery is similar to Armarble's, in that it was first found exclusively in space. Satelite images caught glimpses of what was thought to be Haley's Comet zooming by the Moon. Upon further investigation, the photographed object was too small, and arrived too soon to be the legendary shooting star. There have only been a few reports of Halestone even being within Earth's atmosphere, and is considered a once-in-a-lifetime sight, as is the comet for which it was named.

City Profile: Mercurio Town

Named for Mercury/Hermes, fastest of the Roman/Greek gods.
Here, there are Pokémon races that act as a mini-game, where you jump over hurdles by pressing A at just the right time (same simple gameplay as the pokeblock makers in 3rd Gen).

It is said that Unithorn is most likely to be found in Mercurio's outskirts, drawn by the speed based competition that is the Ohten Race. It is likely that villains will be hidden among the crowds, looking for it.

Ohten's 3rd Gym

Mercurio Town's Gym of Speed
Leader: Pace, male. Slick hair, and slim fit jeans.
Catch Phrase: "Full throttle!"
Pokemon:
Ninjask, Level 21;
Ability: Speed Boost
Moves: Double Team, Mind Reader, Fury Cutter, Sand Attack

Kocheon, Level 22;
Ability: Adaptability
Moves: Quick Attack, Bite, Rolling Kick, Triple Kick

Ponyta, Level 24;
Ability: Flash Fire
Moves: Stomp, Ember, Flame Wheel, Fire Spin

Luvdisc, Level 23;
Ability: Swift Swim
Moves: Rain Dance, Water Gun, Tackle, Charm

Rewards: Turbo Badge and 1 X-Speed

Ohten's Forests and Caves

A few forests on Route 506, on either side of that high mountain area, but the forests are no trickier than 1st Gen's Viridian Forest. That bright pale green blotch halfway between them is a big mountain.
In fact, that mountain is another land mark, Mt. Goliath.
Named so because it is the highest point in Ohten. There will be an entrance to Goliath Cave somewhere on the south side, and plenty of holes to make secret hideouts out of.
Another forest on Route 516's northeastern corner, just before hitting the intersection with 517.
Another cave will be just within Nox's city limits, west side, and we could have it connect to Route 504, just outside Fama city. It is known as Ohoya Tunnel, named for the Japanese God of Mountains. This pass can be used to get to Nox early/faster, but a lot of the pokemon in there are tough for a trainer who only faced the first three gyms.
There is also a small cave on Thrinacie Island, which will be important to the plot of this spin-off (not that this will actually become the basis of anything legit :P)
The only other area that a forest would likely be is south of Felicitas, west of Abundant, on Routes 521 and a bit of 522, but not much further than that.

Routes of Ohten

Sorry this took so long to post. :P
Use this list to help know what route you're on when looking at the Ohten map (as found in older posts)

526 - West from Hathor, leads you back to Illiad

New Pokemon

Gruffon, the Gryphon Pokemon
Steel/Flying
Ability: Intimidate

A pokemon thought to be a myth, this winged beast of a pokemon travels all over Ohten with its shining silver wings. With a head like a lion, a Gruffon's sharp fangs can crush rock and leave marks in metal. And although Fire is its weakness, Gruffon is capable of using Fire type moves like Flamethrower and Fire Blast.
Many trainers go in search of it, and only some even so much as see it. In the recorded history of Ohten, only a lucky handful have even gotten close to catching one.

MORE New Pokemon

Wrecktile, the Giant Lizard Pokemon
Dragon
Ability: Huge Power or Intimidate

A very rare pokemon, Wrecktile was first found near ocean water. Wrecktile is very powerful offensively, with remarkable attack and special attack stats for a pokemon that has short arms and is not of the Legendary class. It is also known for being able to learn many beam moves, such as Ice Beam and Hyper Beam, which are made possible by its strong legs and tail working together as supports.

Mechatile, the Steel Lizard Pokemon
Steel/Dragon
Ability: Huge Power or Intimidate
evolves from Wrecktile when equipped with Steel Coat, then traded

Now part Steel, Mechatile has enhanced defense, but less speed. Steel type techniques are obviously available now, such as Metal Sound and Iron Defense.

New Pokemon

Barrella, the Barrel Monkey Pokemon
Fighting/Grass
Ability: Huge Power or Pick Up

Barrella's canister-torso makes for a perfect place to store items it finds in the forest, or that it and its trainer find in urban areas. The canister-torso allows for moves like Stockpile and Spit-Up, and also allows for a great defense, for Barrella can withdraw inside like a shell, and even allows for offensive moves like Rollout. Its grass type attribute also allows for moves like Growth and Bullet Seed, but not much more.

Monking, the Gorilla Emperor Pokemon
Fighting/Grass
Ability: Huge Power or Pick Up
evolves from Barrella when equipped with King's Rock, then traded

Now adorned with a leaf crown and leafy loin cloth, Monking's Grass type attribute is more apparent in the forms of such grass moves as Razor Leaf and Magical Leaf. It now also has smaller barrels on its forearms, allowing for moves like Wood Hammer and Hammer Arm.

New Pokemon

Cuturnix, the Scrappy Quail Pokemon
Flying/Fighting
Ability: Keen Eye or Guts

Unable to fly, Cuturnix strengthened its little wings to be able to chop through wood with such moves as Slash, X-Scissor, and Cross Chop. And with their small stature, Cuturnixes are very quick and are hard for larger pokemon to hit.

Flamengo, the Fiery Flamingo Pokemon
Fire/Fighting
Ability: Tangled Feet or Run Away

Even though Flamengo is a fire type pokemon, it lives by bodies of water, preying on fish and shrimp. Professors believe it helps strengthen stamina and endurance, so that Flamengoes can fight longer and with hotter fire. Upon Flamengo's discovery, a discussion sparked between trainers on whether it could rival Blaziken, the first Fire/Fighting pokemon known to the world, as a fighter. Flamengo can use similar moves, such as Blaze Kick and Double Kick, but its arms/wings are not as useful, except for flying.

New Evolutions

Laness, the Sea Ferry Pokemon
Water/Ice
Ability: Shell Armor or Marvel Scale
evolves from Lapras after leveling up in Angerona Bay

This 48 foot long creature was first found in the South end of Angerona Bay by young sailors who were on leave. With its long neck and frill, the sailors thought it was some kind of sea dragon. However, upon study, it was clear that it only knew Dragon type moves. As to why Lapras evolves into Laness, professors think the high concentration of Water Stone and Dawn Stone deposits it Angerona Bay's water has something to do with it. This reasoning was supported by water samples, Pokemon experiments involving pokemon that evolve when exposed to either stone swim in the Angerona Bay (most evolved after about 15 minutes), and finding large clumps of Water Stone and Dawn Stone sand wash up on shore.
Laness is the "Sea Ferry" Pokemon because it has the capacity for more passengers and longer travel than it ever did as a Lapras. It can hold up to 100 people, 80 comfortably, and the longest continuous travel recorded on a Laness is from Ohten's Angerona Bay to Kanto's Vermillion Bay, no stops or slowing.

Redeer, the Reindeer Pokemon
Normal/Ice
Ability: Frisk or Illuminate
evolves from Stantler when levels up on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, if wearing a Red Nose

With antlers shining like ornaments and a red nose glowing like a flashlight, Redeer is considered the Christmas mascot in Ohten. In some parts, it is a tradition to have the eldest Stantlers evolve into Redeer on Christmas Eve, then have a Redeer Parade and tournament on Christmas day.
In addition to the Stantler Learnset, Redeer can use Ice moves like Icy Wind and Ice Beam, along with several Beam moves (Signal Beam, Charge Beam, etc.)

More 5th Gen Pokemon

The Mermaid Pokemon
Seareen
Water/Normal
Ability: Serene Grace or Marvel Scale

The beautiful (and always female) Seareen, are as close to actual mermaids as anyone will ever get. With a humanoid upper body and fishy lower body, Seareen can battle both in water and on land, although they are certainly much more mobile in water. It is said that you will know when a Seareen is close by how many Luvdisc and Sweethart there are in the immediate area.

Triton
Water/Fighting
Ability: Serene Grace or Marvel Scale

The masculine males of the Mermaid Pokemon family, Triton are the protectors of the Seareen, as well as other water pokemon, in the sea around Thrinacie Island. It is said that you will know a Triton is close by whenever a Seareen is close by. However, not right next to the Seareen, but off aways, so as to keep an eye on a large area. The distance between a Triton and his Seareen charge matters not to these Knights of the sea, for they are fast swimmers.
As Seareen can, Tritons can battle on land and in water, but again, their advantage is the water.

Both mermaid learnsets have moves found in the Milotic list, with moves unique to the gender. The females can learn such moves as Sing and Charm. The male, being part fighting, parallels Poliwrath, with moves like Vacuum Wave and Submission found in its learnset.

New Evolutions

Alternate Evolution for Weepinbel
Convinement
Grass/Poison
Ability: Chlorophyll
evovles from Weepinbel with use of Sun Stone

This new evolution was first thought to be a lone, first-stage pokemon that did not evolve into or from anything, until a handful were found living with a group of Bellsprout and Weepinbel.
Its design is still that of the pitfall/pitcher flytrap plant, which led a few professors to believe it was related to Weepinbel, even before finding actual proof.
Unlike its previous evolution, and its cousin, Victreebel, Convinement has leaves for feet, and in turn, has feet. And its arms are instead vines.
The reason for explorers to think it was a new breed was the arrangement and orientation of its body. Instead of vertical like Victreebel, Convinement is usually horizontal, crawling along the ground. This is so that it can hide from prey, appearing to be a dead Victreebel. It only stands up if it is eating or is battling.

Its learnset is just as Victreebel's and Weepinbel's, with moves like Wrap and Vinewhip, along with Stockpile, Swallow, and Spit-up.

Chertree was first found in one of the many Ohten forests by a traveling poke-botanist. The botanist noticed that a cheri berry was growing from it, but the "tree" in no way looked like the usual Cherri berry tree. When the tree moved and greeted the botanist, it was clear that it was a pokemon.
